Food Hunt : Dinner at Pudu " Wai Sek Kai "

eversince i came to kl, i have dis thing of trying all the good nom noms in kl. bt most of the places i target are the things the locals eat or another word is called hawker food! haha

their hawker food is a little different compared to the ones i ate in melaka or penang. even if its the same, i really would like to know what is so nice bout this particular dish dat all the people is raving about. just being curious.

restaurants, i do go too. dun worry! haha

so yesterday we decided to drive down to pudu and explore their legendary pudu "wai sek kai" !

its located at jalan sayur and about 2km from the puduraya bus terminal..

em.. bout 8mins if u were to drive dere from the station :)

still have no idea where the place is? use Waze ba! hahahaha the best invention for sesat queen like me~ xD

back to the food. this is what we ate..

"sei ngan zai" fried chicken. this is not the 1st time trying this. a friend of mine actually brought me dere few years back and she highly recommended this stall.

ordered the large drumstick! meaning a drumstick + thigh.. both for only rm4.50

one of the best fried chicken i have tried. even better than KFC's original flavour fried chicken. the skin is cripsy n the chicken is juicy. looking at it now make me crave more now!! T_T

besides the normal chicken part, i see quite a number of people ordered bishop nose too! or aka chicken ass! hahaha

if u r adventurous enough n can try.. but foe me.. its a no no.. xD

next. the salted duck egg fried koay teow! when this plate came, we thought they served the wrong one to us. cz it looks just like a normal koay teow without eggs! LOL

we asked the hawker few time and she insisted is the right order. so we just eat la.. n from the 1st mouth u cn taste the salted duck egg already.

magic! you can feel the feeling bt u cant see it! hahahahaha

oh! this plate cost us only rm5.50. i find the price kinda reasonable cz they add in salted duck egg n yet the price is an average of kl price.

but 1 thing is dat, i would have prefer it to be a little bit more salty. the taste was kinda bland...hehe

"lok mei" or "leng chi kang"

its a dessert. they called it lok mei cz there were 6 types of ingredient in the dessert. the taste was nice bt kinda expensive.

i find it overpriced! ><

rm2.80 for a super small bowl. the size of a bowl is like the size of my fist only.. or the size of a bowl that hawker used to measure the white rice in "chu char"

but if u were to say ok wat.. compared to cha time, black ball n so on. then fine. i have no comment :)

ok. dis wan.. i dunu wats da name. hahahaha  bt the stall is very obvious la. with lots of "ho chiak" tv show logo all around. its basiscally a combi of  few bbq cuttle fish + 2 stuff tau pok + 1cracker. and for the sauce? it just the typical rojak buah sauce with lots of groundnut.

but this thing cost us rm15! super expensive! total shock when the dis arrived! haha

luckily the taste kinda nice la, if not waste my money a.. bt the cuttlefish was toooooooooooo salty for my liking :(

so basically these 4 items are wat i gobble up yesterday nite. sorry body for being super unhealthy. and cholesterol, i bet you are gona grin for adding more numbers for u.. T_T

DIY bracelet with gold chain and pearls

hello dearies! im back! if u had been following my facebook page, you would have know that i have been itching to do some handicraft stuff lately. if u havent follow me dere (angry face! ) den please remember to do so here alright? thankiu in advance :)

finally last weekend i finally had time to go search around places n got all the items needed! happy me :)

let me show u the 1st piece of bracelet that i have made yesterday nite..

TADAH!! nice anot?? xD its a simple classy gold chain and pearls..

so..many people would asked, y DIY when u can purchase it in accessories shop everywhere.. so many choices out dere!

well...

1) i find accessories nowadays are overpriced! some cheapo looking material used and they charge you like rm30 n above??

2) DIY allows you to customised watever you want~~ and im all in for customization! hehe

3) ok.. some people may find this reason weird.. handicraft releases my stress and bring back my life! xD had been working 9-5 weekdays and it totally bores my brain.. i nid to add colours to the brain by doin more handicraft. since painting is nearly impossible, as its kinda troublesome to get all ur art stuff all the way frm home to dis new place.. haha

4) last reason bt is also one of the main reason behind all these.. i enjoy the process of doin it n seeing it composed into a beautiful piece than to actually wear it out myself! haha psst : i used to tink of opening a handicraft shop when i much younger (now dat im old, i kinda accept the fact that i dun tink much ppl wana buy from me.. LOL)

so to sum it all , mayb another picture of the compilation of the bracelet below?

and a picture of the bracelet with me!
(please ignore my swollen left eye.. it has been like dis since last Saturday.. n i had no clue what causes it.. i woke up n i tadah! i received the swollen eye T_T)

dunu y.. i tink my wrist kinda shrunk/ slim down overnite.. cz this picture was taken dis morning and it seems to be loose a bit compared to yesterday.. LOL

its ok, i will go back n alter it a bit! :)

so if u like it, please drop a comment below so that i will know my readers are interested in this topic.. and mayb i post more of this masterpiece next time or better still some tutorial next time? xD

Food Review : Humble Beginnings @ Straits Quay, Penang

elo! im back with more food to make you droll..

taken you meal?

cz if your answer is a no, i bet u wouldn't want to continue scrolling now.hehe

so lately, the mille crepe trend had been blooming like mushroom after the rain. shops specialized in mille crepe seems to open everywhere around the neighbourhood. 1st we had Nadeje who are in this business for a looooooong loooooooong time. Then out came humble beginnings , vanilla cakes, The twelvecups and so on...

back to the tittle, lets talk bout Humble Beginnings today! :)

I present you Humble Beginning from Straits Quay, Penang!!! Humble Beginnings started on the 1st of October 2007 specializing in Mille Crepe. however, starting from 1st of March 2009, they also offer Cheese, Chocolate and Sponge Cakes.

So, this is their shop! the shop is super tiny at the corner of the ground floor. its near pappa rich side if im not mistaken :)

the interior...

love the cute lights on the ceiling!! so cute dat i just had to snap a pic of it!hehe

These are the goodie food we ordered! xD

Peanut Butter Chocolate

Lemon Cream Cheese

Cheese Cake

nutella banana

Like the nutella banana and the cheese cake the most!! At first i find this nutella banana flavour combi kinda weird but once i try it, awesome pawsome! As for the cheese cake, i like the feeling of having something to bite among the creamy cheese in your mouth.. hehehe

But overall, i find the mille crepe a little too creamy/oily feel for my liking. I still would have prefer nadeje instead for their variety n taste. As for the price, its RM9.90 per piece regardless of mille crepe, cheese cake or sponge crepe.

so the verdict?

mayb i will consider goin there again in the future as i have yet to try out their sponge mille. :)

you can go try if u have not had any mille crepes before..haha

business hour: open daily (12pm -10pm)
